How it works

Connect Stripe in four steps

No API keys to copy. Stripe Connect is set up from your Ultimate Membership Pro dashboard.

1Switch on Stripe ConnectIn your dashboard, open Payment Services, then Stripe Connect, and turn it on.

2Connect your accountChoose Live or Test mode and click Connect with Stripe.

3Check your Stripe accountMake sure it’s activated and on the latest default API version.

4Add the webhookAdd the webhook URL shown in your dashboard to Stripe, for Live and Test mode, so Memberships activate on their own.

Before you connect Stripe

Straight answers, so your first payments go through without surprises.

Stripe, plainly

Pause, resume and card changes work with Stripe Connect, not with Stripe Checkout. You set a free trial or a different first payment on the Membership. On Stripe, trials are documented for Stripe Connect. The webhook only works on a live website, not on a local install. Add it for Live and Test mode. On Stripe, a coupon that applies only to the first payment of a recurring Membership works as a 100% discount only. Partial first-payment discounts don’t work. Moving from Stripe Checkout to Stripe Connect? Existing subscriptions move over at their next renewal.
