PayFast Pro Payment Gateway

A monthly or quarterly Membership needs a gateway that charges again on schedule. PayFast Pro adds PayFast subscriptions to Ultimate Membership Pro: the subscription is created on PayFast when the member pays, and each renewal payment extends their Membership.

It takes one-time payments too, so your lifetime and recurring Memberships run through the same PayFast account, in rand.

PayFast subscriptions for your Memberships

• Four billing periods. Bill every month, every 3 months, every 6 months or once a year.
• Created at checkout. The subscription is set up on PayFast when the member pays, with the Membership’s price, billing period and number of payments.
• Renewals extend access. Each subscription payment adds a renewal order and extends the Membership.
• A set number of payments. Choose from 2 to 52 payments, for example four quarterly payments for a year of access.
• One-time payments as well. Lifetime and fixed-length Memberships still go through PayFast.
• Coupons included. Coupon codes work with PayFast payments.

How PayFast Pro works

1. Activate PayFast Pro next to the PayFast add-on. Pro uses its settings screen, PayFast connection and payment page.
2. Paste your Merchant ID and Merchant Key and price your Memberships in rand.
3. Set a Membership to Recurring Subscription with a cycle of 1, 3 or 6 months or 1 year, and choose the number of payments.
4. Members subscribe on PayFast, and each payment PayFast reports to your site renews their Membership.

Who PayFast Pro is for

• Monthly communities. Clubs and content sites that bill members every month.
• Quarterly coaching. Programs that charge once every three months.
• Annual memberships. Yearly access, charged once a year through PayFast.

For example, a South African coaching club can sell Pro Quarterly as a Recurring Subscription every 3 months, limited to 4 payments. Members pay for a year in four parts, and each payment extends their access.

Which plans include PayFast Pro?

PayFast Pro comes with the Full Package and Agency plans, together with all 46 Pro add-ons. The Pro plan doesn’t include Pro add-ons.

Do I need the PayFast add-on too?

Yes. PayFast Pro builds on the PayFast add-on, so keep both active. Activating PayFast Pro switches the PayFast add-on on if it’s installed.

Which billing periods can I use?

Every 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. Set the Membership’s Subscription Cycle to one of these.

Which currency do members pay in?

South African rand (ZAR). Set your site currency to ZAR before you create the Memberships you sell through PayFast.

What do I need from PayFast?

A PayFast merchant account with your Merchant ID and Merchant Key, and a South African bank account for PayFast to pay your funds into.
