Your email platform sends the newsletter. Ultimate Membership Pro sends the emails that follow a member’s account, and you can set them per Membership.

How the email integrations work

The opt-in integrations send the email address only, to one list. They don’t sort members by Membership. For that, use one of the Full Package add-ons. If your list asks for extra required fields or a double opt-in, new subscribers won’t be saved. Use a list without them. Members join your list when they tick the opt-in box at sign-up. You can show the box already ticked. Removal from a list when a Membership expires is part of Mailster Pro. MailChimp PRO, ConvertKit, MailPoet Pro and Mailster Pro come with Full Package and Agency. The opt-in integrations and InfusionSoft work in every plan. Your email platform sends your newsletters and campaigns. Ultimate Membership Pro adds new members to your list and sends its own account emails.

Which email marketing tools does the membership plugin integrate with?

In every plan, the opt-in integration works with Mailchimp, AWeber, GetResponse, iContact, ActiveCampaign, Campaign Monitor and Constant Contact, and InfusionSoft syncs contacts and tags. Full Package adds MailChimp PRO, ConvertKit, MailPoet Pro and Mailster Pro.

What does the opt-in integration send to my list?

It sends the new member’s email address to one list you choose, when they tick the opt-in box at sign-up. It doesn’t send other details or sort members by Membership.

Can I put members on different lists by Membership?

Yes, with Full Package. MailChimp PRO uses audiences, ConvertKit uses subscriber groups, and MailPoet Pro and Mailster Pro use lists, each matched to the member’s Membership.

Are members removed from my list when their Membership expires?

With Mailster Pro, yes. Members are removed from the lists tied to a Membership when it expires, and added to the right lists when they join or upgrade.

Does the opt-in work with double opt-in lists?

No. If your list asks for a double opt-in or extra required fields, new subscribers won’t be saved, so use a list without them.

Does Ultimate Membership Pro send its own emails?

Yes. It has 45+ custom email notifications, such as a warning before a Membership expires, payment completed, new account and password reset, and you can set them per Membership. Your newsletters still go through your email platform.
