MailPoet Pro
MailPoet sends your newsletters from inside WordPress, and MailPoet Pro connects it to your Memberships. You get MailPoet membership lists, one for each Membership: members are added when a Membership starts and unsubscribed from that list when it ends.
The built-in Opt-In of Ultimate Membership Pro can add new sign-ups to one MailPoet list. MailPoet Pro follows the Membership each person holds, so a newsletter sent to a list reaches the members who hold that Membership.
MailPoet membership lists for every Membership
- A list per Membership. Choose a MailPoet list for each Membership, or let it use your Default List.
- Added when a Membership starts. Each time a Membership is activated, the member is saved in its list with their email address, first name and last name.
- Existing subscribers reused. A person who is already in MailPoet is subscribed to the list, and a new subscriber is created for everyone else.
- Unsubscribed when it ends. When a Membership expires or is deleted, the member is unsubscribed from its list. The subscriber stays in MailPoet.
- New sign-ups too. Choose MailPoet as the Opt-In service on the registration form and new registrations join the Default List.
- Nothing to connect. Your lists come straight from MailPoet on the same site, with no API key to copy.
How MailPoet Pro works
- Install MailPoet on the same site and create your lists.
- Switch on the add-on in Ultimate Membership Pro.
- Choose a Default List and a list for each Membership.
- Members are added to lists and unsubscribed from them as their Memberships start and end.
Step-by-step setup is in the MailPoet Integration guide.
When a list per Membership helps
- A newsletter for one Membership. Give that Membership its own list, then send your MailPoet newsletter to that list.
- Free and paid members apart. Free members stay on your general newsletter while paid Memberships get lists of their own.
- Members with several Memberships. Give each Membership a list and the member is saved in each one they hold.
For example, a coaching club uses a Coaching Club Newsletter list as the Default List, then a Pro Members list for Pro Monthly and an Annual Pass Members list for Annual Pass. When a Pro Monthly Membership ends, that member is unsubscribed from Pro Members.
Works well with
- Email marketing integrations, for the built-in newsletter sign-up services.
- Delete My Account, so members who delete their own account are also unsubscribed from their lists.
