My Group Accounts

A company wants access for its whole team, a family wants one Membership for everyone at home. Asking each person to buy separately loses the sale. My Group Accounts lets you sell membership seats: the buyer of a Membership gives the same access to a set number of other people, and adds or removes them from their own Member Portal.

You decide which Memberships come with seats and how many. The buyer runs the group, so you don’t set up each account by hand.

Membership seats the buyer manages

• Seats per Membership. Turn seats on for the Memberships you choose and set how many email addresses one buyer can add.
• A My Group Accounts tab. Buyers with seats get their own tab in the Member Portal, with a form and a list of their group.
• Add people by email. The buyer types an address and a name, picks the Membership to share and clicks Assign Subscription.
• New and existing accounts. People who already have an account get the Membership right away. Others get an invitation and join the group when they register with that address.
• Same access, same end date. People in the group get the buyer’s Membership, shown as Active in their Subscriptions table with the buyer’s end date.
• Change the group any time. Edit or remove a person to free the seat, or resend the invitation to someone who hasn’t registered yet.

How My Group Accounts works

1. Switch on the add-on in Ultimate Membership Pro.
2. Turn on seats for a Membership and set the number of group accounts.
3. A member buys that Membership and opens My Group Accounts in their Member Portal.
4. They add people by email, and each person gets an email: a notice of the new Membership, or an invitation to register.

Who group accounts are for

• Companies and teams. One manager buys the Membership and adds the staff who need it.
• Families. One person pays and shares the Membership with the people at home.

For example, a coaching club shares Pro Monthly at $19 a month with up to 5 people. The buyer adds Noah, who is already a member, and Maya, who has no account yet. Noah sees Pro Monthly in his Subscriptions at once. Maya gets an invitation email and joins the group when she registers. To offer larger teams, the club creates a second Membership with more seats.

Questions about My Group Accounts

Which plans include My Group Accounts?

My Group Accounts comes with the Full Package and Agency plans, together with all 46 Pro add-ons. The Pro plan doesn’t include Pro add-ons.

Do people in the group need their own account?

Yes, they use the access with their own account. Someone who already has one gets the Membership at once. Someone new gets an invitation email and joins the group when they register with that address.

How long does the shared access last?

As long as the buyer’s Membership is active. People in the group see the same end date as the buyer.

Can the buyer change who is in the group?

Yes. From the My Group Accounts tab they can edit a person, remove them to free the seat, or resend an invitation.

Can I edit the invitation emails?

Yes. Both emails, for people with and without an account, are editable, with tags for the person’s name, the buyer’s name and email, your site address and the Membership.
