What it does and doesn't do with downloads

It doesn't host files or count downloads itself. Files stay in your Media Library or in Download Monitor, and limits use Download Monitor's download log.The Specific Files rule works on Apache servers with mod_rewrite, through a rule it writes into your .htaccess file. On other servers, serve files through Download Monitor and keep links on locked pages.Download Monitor limits count from a member's first download and don't reset each month. Each renewal adds the Membership's limit again.Ultimate Membership Pro sells access by Membership. To sell many products one by one, a store such as WooCommerce fits better.Pay Per Post needs Full Package. Everything else on this page works on every plan.

Can I protect the file link, not just the page?

Yes, on Apache servers. A Specific Files Access Rule protects the direct link to PDF, ZIP, RAR, MP3, MP4, AVI, Word and Excel files for the Memberships you choose.

Can I limit how many files a member downloads?
