Blacklist Disposable Emails
Temporary mailbox services let people create accounts with addresses they never read. Blacklist Disposable Emails helps you block disposable email signups: when someone registers with an email domain on your list, the Ultimate Membership Pro registration form stops them and shows your message.
Your member list stays clear of the throwaway domains you block, and you decide exactly which domains count as throwaway.
Block disposable email signups at the registration form
- A ready-made list. Tick any of more than 500 well-known temporary-mail domains, such as mailinator.com or yopmail.com.
- Your own domains. Type any other domain you want to block, separated by commas.
- Your message. Write the error visitors see, for example “Please use a permanent email address.”
- Checked on the spot. The error appears under the Email field as soon as the visitor leaves it, and the form isn’t sent while the address is blocked.
How Blacklist Disposable Emails works
- Switch on the add-on in Ultimate Membership Pro.
- Tick the common disposable domains you want to block.
- Add your own domains and write the error message.
- Save. Visitors who use a blocked domain see your message under the Email field.
Step-by-step setup is in the Blacklist Disposable Emails guide.
When blocking throwaway addresses helps
- Free Memberships that attract fake accounts. A free sign-up is easy to abuse with an address nobody reads. Blocking the domains they use keeps those sign-ups out.
- Emails that have to land. Welcome messages and renewal notices only help when they reach a real inbox.
- A new disposable service. Spot an unfamiliar domain in your Members list and add it to your own list.
For example, a coaching club ticks mailinator.com, guerrillamail.com, yopmail.com and trashmail.com, adds two domains of its own and shows “Please use a permanent email address.” Throwaway mailboxes can’t be used to join its Free Community.
Works well with
- IP Registration, to hide the registration form from IP addresses that keep creating fake accounts.
- Stop spam registrations, the guide to every way Ultimate Membership Pro keeps fake sign-ups out.
- Registration and login, the registration forms this check protects.
