Hidden HTML Elements

An upgrade banner makes sense for visitors, but not for people who already pay. Hidden HTML Elements lets you hide elements by membership or login status, by targeting their CSS class or ID. It works with any theme or page builder, and the page itself stays as you built it.

One rule can cover the whole site: wherever that class or ID appears, the rule applies.

Hide elements by membership on every page

• Target a class or an ID. A class rule covers every element with that class. An ID rule covers the element with that ID.
• Block or show. Hide the element from the people you pick, or show it only to them and hide it from everyone else.
• Choose who. All, Registered Users, Unregistered Users, or one or more of your Memberships.
• Site-wide. A rule applies on every page that has an element with that class or ID.
• Any theme or builder. Many builders have a CSS Class or CSS ID field, and your browser’s Inspect tool shows both.
• Rules at a glance. Your rules are listed with their selector, type and target users, and one click deletes a rule.

How Hidden HTML Elements works

1. Give the element a CSS class or ID, or note the one it already has.
2. Switch on Hidden HTML Elements in Ultimate Membership Pro.
3. Add a rule: the class or ID, Block Only or Show Only, and the target users.
4. Visitors and members now each see the version of the page that fits them.

Where hiding an element helps

• Upgrade banners. Hide the upgrade pitch from the Memberships that already include everything.
• Members corners. Show a members-only box or link only to the Memberships it is for.
• Menu links and widget boxes. Hide single links or boxes by their class, without changing your menu or sidebar setup.

For example, a coaching club adds two rules. The upgrade-banner class is set to Block Only for Pro Monthly and Annual Pass, and the members-corner ID is set to Show Only for the same two Memberships. Visitors and Free Community members see the banner. Paying members see the members corner instead.

Hidden HTML Elements hides elements with CSS, which makes it ideal for banners, links and layout.

Which plans include Hidden HTML Elements?

Hidden HTML Elements comes with the Full Package and Agency plans, together with all 46 Pro add-ons. The Pro plan doesn’t include Pro add-ons.

Does it work with my page builder?

Yes. It works with any theme or page builder. If the element has a CSS class or ID, or you can give it one, you can target it.

Can I show an element only to one Membership?

Yes. Add a rule with Show Only and pick that Membership as the target users. The element is hidden from everyone else, and administrators always see every element.

How is it different from the Inside Locker?

Hidden HTML Elements hides page elements such as banners, links and boxes across your whole site, by class or ID. The Inside Locker protects content inside one page, so only the right members receive it.
