Two-Step SignUp

A long registration form with payment fields at the bottom can feel like a lot to start. Two-Step SignUp turns the form of a paid Membership into a multi-step registration form with two clear steps: members fill in their personal details first, then move on to checkout to choose how to pay.

The first screen stays short, and the payment part waits until the member is ready for it. There is nothing to build: switch it on and your existing Ultimate Membership Pro form is split for you.

• Step 2, Checkout. The payment method choice and its fields, the coupon box and the order summary, with a Complete button.
• A progress bar. Two circles show where the member is, with the step names under them if you want.
• Back without losing anything. The Back button returns to step 1 with the entered details still in place.
• Works with your templates. The steps work with every built-in registration form template.

How Two-Step SignUp works

1. Switch on the add-on in Ultimate Membership Pro.
2. Optionally show the step names, Personal Details and Checkout, under the progress bar.
3. Save your changes.
4. Open the registration page of a paid Membership and the form shows in two steps.

When a two-step sign-up helps

• Paid Memberships with many fields. Members see the fields first and the payment part only after they click Next.
• Coupons and several payment methods. Step 2 groups the payment choice, the coupon box and the order summary in one place.
• Free and paid side by side. Free Memberships keep their quick one-step form, while paid ones get the two steps.

For example, a coaching club sells Pro Monthly at $19/month. Step 1 asks for username, email, name and password. Step 2 shows the payment method, the coupon box and the order summary. Its Free Community sign-up stays a single step.
