When the same person or network keeps creating fake or abusive accounts, you want to shut that door without touching anyone else. IP Registration lets you block registrations by IP address: visitors whose address is on your list don’t see the Ultimate Membership Pro registration form. Everyone else signs up as before.

Block registrations by IP, one address or a whole range

  • Single addresses. List a full address such as 203.0.113.45 to block one visitor.
  • Whole ranges. End an address with * to block every address that starts with it, such as 198.51.100.*.
  • Everywhere the form appears. The form is hidden on your registration page and in the registration popup too.
  • The rest of the page stays. Blocked visitors still see the page title and any text you wrote, just not the form.
  • One list to manage. Add or remove addresses whenever you need, separated by commas.

How IP Registration works

  1. Switch on the add-on in Ultimate Membership Pro.
  2. Type the IP addresses or ranges you want to block, separated by commas.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Visitors from those addresses open your registration page and find no form, while everyone else registers as normal.

You find the address of a spam sign-up in your hosting access logs or in a security plugin’s activity log. Step-by-step setup is in the IP Registration guide.

When blocking an IP address helps

  • A repeat spammer. Someone keeps signing up with new email addresses from the same connection. Block the address once and the form is gone for them.
  • Addresses that change within one network. A range entry ending in * covers every address that starts the same way.
  • Abuse from a known source. When a network you know sends unwanted sign-ups, list it and the form is hidden from it.

For example, a coaching club blocks one address and one range: 203.0.113.45 and 198.51.100.*. Visitors from those addresses see the Register page without the form, and everyone else registers as before.

Which plans include IP Registration?

IP Registration comes with the Full Package and Agency plans, together with all 46 Pro add-ons. The Pro plan doesn’t include Pro add-ons.

What does a blocked visitor see?

The registration page without the registration form. The page title and any text you wrote show as usual.

Can I block a range of IP addresses?

Yes. End an address with *, for example 198.51.100.*, and every address that starts with 198.51.100. is blocked.

How do I find the IP address of a spam account?
