Restrict Member Portal Tabs

A free member has no orders, so a Payments tab only gets in the way. Restrict Member Portal Tabs lets you hide member portal tabs, or show them only to certain Memberships, so each member’s account area in the Member Portal fits what they actually have.

You set a rule tab by tab, and tabs without a rule show as usual.

Hide member portal tabs, or show them to some Memberships

• Every tab. Dashboard, Profile, Subscriptions, Social Plus, Orders, Help, LogOut, and the tabs added by modules or by you.
• Block or show. Hide a tab from members of the Memberships you pick, or show it only to them.
• Some or all. Pick one or more Memberships, or All to hide a tab for everyone or show it to everyone.
• Any matching Membership. A member with several Memberships matches a rule if any one of them is on the list.
• Active Memberships count. Rules follow each member’s active Memberships, so the menu follows the Memberships they hold right now.

How Restrict Member Portal Tabs works

1. Switch on the add-on in Ultimate Membership Pro. In Modules it is called Restrict My Account Tabs.
2. Find the tab and choose Block or Show for it.
3. Pick the Memberships, or All, and save.
4. Members now see only the tabs their Memberships allow in the Member Portal menu.

When a tailored account menu helps

• Payments for paying members. Free members don’t have orders, so show the Payments tab only to your paid Memberships.
• Premium tabs. Show a tab, such as one of your custom tabs, in the menu of Pro members only.
• A simpler portal. Hide a tab such as Social Plus for everyone with one rule set to All.

For example, a coaching club sets the Orders tab, shown as Payments in the portal, to Show only for Pro Monthly and Annual Pass. Free Community members see Dashboard, Profile Details, Subscriptions, Help and LogOut. Paying members see the same tabs plus Payments.

Which plans include Restrict Member Portal Tabs?

Restrict Member Portal Tabs comes with the Full Package and Agency plans, together with all 46 Pro add-ons. The Pro plan doesn’t include Pro add-ons.

Can I restrict my own custom tabs?

Yes. Tabs you add with the Member Portal Tabs module, and tabs added by other modules, get a rule block of their own.

What do members see?

The Member Portal menu shows only the tabs their Memberships allow. Tabs without a rule show as usual.

What happens when a member’s Membership expires?

Only active Memberships count. With a Show rule, the tab is no longer shown once the Membership that opened it expires.
