Slack Integration

When someone joins, the people who welcome, coach or support them should know right away. Slack Integration sends Slack notifications for new members: each time a member gets one of the Memberships you pick, a message lands in your Slack channel.

Your team sees who joined and which Membership they got, without opening the WordPress admin or waiting for an email.

Slack notifications for new members, per Membership

• You pick the Memberships. Select one or more Memberships. Only those send a message, so you can follow your paid Memberships and leave the rest out.
• Name, email and Membership. Each message gives the member’s full name, email address and the Membership they got.
• The channel you choose. Pick a channel such as #new-members for the webhook and enter it in the add-on.
• Sent when the Membership is active. For example right after the payment completes, so each message stands for a member who now has access.
• A direct connection. The add-on talks to Slack through an incoming webhook, with no extra service in between.

A message reads like this: User Emma Carter ( emma.carter@example.com ) has acquired the following subscription: Pro Monthly.

How Slack Integration works

1. In Slack, create an app with Incoming Webhooks and add it to your channel.
2. Paste the webhook URL into the add-on and switch it on.
3. Enter the channel and select the Memberships to follow.
4. Each time one of them becomes active for a member, the message appears in Slack.

Who gets the most from Slack alerts

• Community managers. See each new Annual Pass member as they join and send a personal hello the same day.
• Coaches and course teams. Know when a new student starts, so the first session is ready for them.
• Small teams that live in Slack. New members show up where everyone already talks, not in one person’s inbox.

For example, a coaching club posts to #new-members and follows Pro Monthly and Annual Pass. Every new paying member appears in the channel, while free sign-ups stay out of it.

Which plans include Slack Integration?

Slack Integration comes with the Full Package and Agency plans, together with all 46 Pro add-ons. The Pro plan doesn’t include Pro add-ons.

What does the Slack message say?

It names the member, gives their email address and the Membership they got, for example: User Emma Carter ( emma.carter@example.com ) has acquired the following subscription: Pro Monthly.

Can I choose which Memberships send a message?

Yes. Select one or more Memberships in the add-on. Each member who gets one of them triggers a message.

Which channel do the messages go to?

The Slack channel you pick for the webhook, such as #new-members. Enter the same channel in the add-on.

What do I need in Slack?

A Slack workspace where you can create an app, and a channel for the messages. The app gives you the webhook URL the add-on uses.
