Run an affiliate program with Ultimate Affiliate Pro
Your members are often your best promoters. With Ultimate Affiliate Pro, from the same team, you can run a membership affiliate program: affiliates share their link, and they earn a commission each time someone they refer buys or renews a Membership.
The two plugins are built to work together. There is no connector to install: activate both and Ultimate Affiliate Pro starts tracking Membership sales.
Before you start
- Ultimate Membership Pro with at least one paid Membership.
- Ultimate Affiliate Pro installed and activated on the same site.
Check that the integration is on
Go to Ultimate Affiliate Pro›Integrations. Ultimate Membership Pro appears under Membership and is turned on by default. Keep it on.
From now on, when a visitor arrives through an affiliate link and buys a Membership, Ultimate Affiliate Pro records a referral for that affiliate. The referral waits until the payment is completed, then it is approved.
Set the commission
Ultimate Affiliate Pro works out each commission from the affiliate’s Rank, a percentage or a fixed amount. You can fine-tune it:
Give some Memberships their own rate. Choose Ultimate Membership Pro as the source and pick the Memberships, for example 30% on the yearly plan and 20% on the monthly one.
Pay affiliates on every renewal of a Recurring Subscription Membership, not just the first payment, with a recurring amount for each Rank.
Link an Ultimate Membership Pro coupon code to an affiliate. Whoever uses the code at checkout is credited to that affiliate, even without the affiliate link, so it works well for podcasts, videos and newsletters.
Add a field to the Ultimate Membership Pro registration form where buyers pick or type the affiliate who sent them.
Taxes
If you charge taxes on Memberships, turn on Exclude Taxes from Calculations in Ultimate Affiliate Pro’s general settings, so commissions are worked out on the price without tax.

Let members become affiliates
Members can join your affiliate program from the Member Portal, without a second account.
- In Ultimate Membership Pro, go to Affiliates›Account Page.
- Turn on Show the Affiliate tab. An Affiliate tab is added to the Member Portal.
- Edit the Default tab content: explain your commission and keep the
shortcode, which shows the Become Affiliate button. - Click Save Changes.
When a member is already an affiliate, the Affiliate tab takes them straight to their Affiliate Portal, with their links, stats and earnings.
Manage affiliates from Ultimate Membership Pro
In Ultimate Membership Pro›Affiliates you see every member, with totals for affiliates and non-affiliates. Filter the list, select members and use the Bulk Actions Make affiliate or Remove from affiliate. Use it, for example, to make all your Pro members affiliates at once.
Test it
- Copy the affiliate link of a test affiliate from its Affiliate Portal.
- Open the link in a private window, then buy a Membership with a test card (Stripe Connect test mode).
- In Ultimate Affiliate Pro›Referrals, a new referral shows for that affiliate, with the Membership sale amount.
Troubleshooting
Do I need an extra add-on to connect Ultimate Membership Pro and Ultimate Affiliate Pro?
No. The integration is built into Ultimate Affiliate Pro. Activate both plugins and check that Ultimate Membership Pro is on in Ultimate Affiliate Pro›Integrations.
Can affiliates earn on membership renewals?
Yes. Turn on Recurring Commissions in Ultimate Affiliate Pro and set the recurring amount for each Rank. Affiliates then earn on every renewal of a recurring Membership they referred.
Can I pay a different commission for each Membership?
Yes. Create a Product Rate in Ultimate Affiliate Pro, choose Ultimate Membership Pro as the source and pick the Memberships.
How do members join the affiliate program?
Turn on the Affiliate tab in Affiliates›Account Page. Members click Become Affiliate in their Member Portal.
When is a commission approved?
The referral is created when the order is placed and approved when the payment is completed.
